The EU and the UK reach a provisional agreement on citizens` rights and the financial regime of Brexit. Negotiations between EU representatives and the UK government are expected to continue in London on Tuesday. However, European officials are likely to see a declaration of war in the announcement that the British government will publish parts of the internal market law on Wednesday and announce that these aspects of the withdrawal agreement could be repealed. EU officials have always said that there will only be a trade deal if the UK government respects this agreement. «Prime Minister, there is no good result in #Brexit,» Manfred Weber, a German MEP for the Bavarian Christian Social Union, wrote in a tweet to Johnson. Instead of taking Northern Ireland hostage, it would be better if you kept your word and supported the withdrawal agreement. Can we trust your promise? The WAB agrees to withdraw Boris Johnson, which is a draft international treaty, into British law and gives the government permission to ratify it. The agreement defines the goods, services and processes associated with them. Any provision of goods or services legally put on the market before leaving the EU may be made available to consumers in the UK or in the EU Member States (Article 40-41). The House of Commons votes on the Brexit bill. This means that the UK is on track to leave the EU on 31 January.
However, the House of Lords and the European Parliament have yet to approve the agreement. After the adoption by the British House of Lords on 22 January of the European Union Withdrawal Agreement Act, the bill received royal approval from the Queen. The European Parliament approved the agreement on 29 January. The 2019 revisions also adapted elements of the political declaration and replaced the word «appropriate» with «appropriate» with respect to labour standards. According to Sam Lowe, a trade fellow at the Centre for European Reform, the amendment excludes labour standards from dispute resolution mechanisms. In addition, the Equal Competition Mechanism has been postponed from the legally binding withdrawal agreement to the political declaration, and the line of the political statement that «the United Kingdom will consider taking into account alignment with trade union rules in the relevant areas» has been removed. The new political declaration sets out the framework for future relations between the European Union and the United Kingdom and reflects the Government`s ambition to conclude an ambitious, comprehensive, comprehensive and flexible partnership on trade and economic cooperation with the EU, at the heart of a free trade agreement with the EU, as well as agreements on security and other areas of cooperation.
